At Roadblock: End Of The Line, Sami Zayn was booked to go the distance with Braun Strowman. Given 10 minutes by Raw GM Mick Foley, the underdog lasted the full duration, meaning the pay-per-view bout ended in moral victory for Zayn.

That didn't sit well with Braun Strowman's character, the big man has been on the war path ever since. Such chaos continued on this week's episode of Raw, Strowman interrupted a tag-team match pitting The Shining Stars vs. Darren Young and Bo Dallas, before also facing Seth Rollins one-on-one.

During that latter match, Sami Zayn poked his nose and was eventually chased away by Braun to the backstage area. This came after a promo segment involving Strowman and Stephanie McMahon, one which had the authority figure attempting to placate the rampaging beast as best she could.

In order to do so, Stephanie agreed to set up a Last Man Standing encounter pitting Strowman against Zayn on next week's show.

Traditionally, WWE like to load up the first Raw broadcast of the new year with some big matches. Zayn vs. Strowman fits in with that kind of strategy, and it'll be interesting to see if Sami is written to suffer another lengthy beating at the hands of his larger foe.

It's stick or twist time in the feud, Strowman would be affected by a loss yet Zayn arguably needs the win more right now.
