2. Taker And Lesnar And Heymans Weird Plea
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fViWjMgq8Qc There was one other announcement we were supposed to get on Raw, and that was from the Undertaker. Only it didnt turn out to be an announcement as much as a familiar catchphrase. Which was odd. Perhaps more odd was Heyman interrupting Taker before he got a chance to speak. Undertaker came out to his usual pomp and circumstance, complete with an overbearing fog machine, gongs, faux lightning strikes and ominous music. When he arrived in the ring and the fog cleared, however, it was Paul Heyman who stared him down from the stage. Heymans promo this week was much less meaningful than last weeks shoot on CM Punk, with a slice of Lesnar stuff at the end. This week he pleaded with Taker to not wrestle Brock Lesnar at Mania. He said he was a fan of the streak, and brought up wrestler after wrestlerHall of Famers, all of themwho, at most, reached five consecutive wins before succumbing to a Wrestlemania loss. Again, he asked Taker not to take the match, for Heyman himself was a fan of not only the Undertaker, but the streak itself. Of course, the Undertaker dismissed this notion, and then we got his message. Tell Brock Lesnar he will rest in peace. Ehhhalright. I guess. Not much of an announcement there. Just a catchphrase thats become an annual cliché. What caught my eye, though, was Heymans reaction to this. If you watch closely, it almost looks like he has tears in his eyes for Taker. This was a tremendously strange reaction. Obviously, this was all part of the plan, but I cant figure out why. Are we to believe that Heyman is so legitimately concerned for the Undertakers streak that he would show emotion over it? Or is there something else? Some ulterior motive yet to be revealed? Honestly, its anyones guess at this point, but what I do know is 21-0 is beyond special, and I just cant see that turning into 21-1 without something major happening. Its a shame that Lesnar, a beast of a man in his prime, is fighting someone whos a legend, yes, but also on his way out. Taker has been consigned to one match a year now for the past handful of years or so. Hes old. He cant do most of the things he used to. Pairing him with Lesnar may be one of those things thats a better story than it is a match. It will take some sleight of hand and trickery for the WWE to convince anyone that this is more than a foregone conclusion at this point. 22-0 looks inevitable. For now. But there was one more thing. One thing that may have seemed inevitable, but was held off for so long. Now though, we can all get ready for the rise of Daniel Bryan
