WWE RAW Review: 5 Things We Learned (June 2, 2014)

With 2014's Payback PPV in the books, WWE now looks forward to one of its most anticipated events of the year, Money In The Bank. With a win in the Ladder Match, the victor is awarded a contract for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship that he, or she, can put into effect AT ANY TIME. In recent years, winners Dolph Ziggler and Damien Sandow have both cashed in, with differing results. Ziggler cashed in on RAW following Wrestlemania last year, and he successfully won the then World Heavyweight Championship. Sandow, however, cashed in against John Cena earlier this year and lost outright. But the results were both short-lived, as both men eventually fell back into mid-card obscurity. With the 2014 event, WWE can work towards fixing those mistakes by not only having a clear winner in this years event, but also book that winner to go on to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship for longer than the recent blink of an eye title reigns. WWE must work to clean up the mess they've made recently with the Money In The Bank contracts, or they risk losing what was once something fans looked forward to every year, making it feel like it's just another pay per view. MITB was a special kind of victory, but recently not so much. Those who successfully "cash in" must be allowed to reign with the title for more than a mere few weeks in order to have an impact. But before we arrive there some 4 weeks from now, let's take a quick look at last night's RAW broadcast. WWE will be tying up Payback's loose ends and setting new plans in motion to prepare for the Money In The Bank PPV, and here are 5 things we learned on RAW that were examples of just that:
