WWE Raw Review: A Show That Was Better Than Wrestlemania
TONS OF FUNK W/ THE FUNKADACTYLS VS TEAM RHODES SCHOLARS W/ BELLA TWINS This match was supposed to take place at Wrestlemania but was bumped due to time constraints. While I wasnt particularly looking forward to this match, I do feel bad for everyone who was bumped. It was sad to see Brodus and Tensai come out in their attire they had made for Wrestlemania. It was like watching a girl who was too sick to go to prom show up the following Monday at school wearing her prom dress. Yeah, they got to wear their attire, but it wasnt the same. The match was ok but felt rushed. The Funkadactyls and Bellas didnt do much except spill to the outside for the inevitable finish. Tons of Funk pick up the victory after double-splashing Damian Sandow. MAIN EVENT: MARK HENRY VS JOHN CENA This match was a mess. I cant tell if both guys were just tired or what, but the match really suffered. The finish was also pretty bogus. I hate count-out finishes and especially hate count-out finishes when it comes to matches that are supposed to lead to title matches. The tease of a Worlds Strongest Slam through a table was just that: a needless tease that never happened, even post-match. Mark Henry did hit the Worlds Strongest Slam on Cena though after the match. Rybacks music hits and he rushes the ring. He takes out Henry, and then helps John Cena up. He starts a FEED ME MORE chant and then clotheslines Cena out of nowhere. At this point, the crowd was in frenzy. Even more so when Ryback screamed FINISH IT! and hit the Shellshock on Cena. The up-yours to Cena was a nice touch. I cant tell if Ryback turned heel or if he is just going to take on everyone. A heel turn could be fun but Ryback doesnt do much on the mic so hed have to rely solely on his in-ring work to get over a heel persona. Needless to say, RAW was fantastic last night. I dont know why the WWE cant be this consistently good. They need to see what they did right last night, take note, and reproduce that week after week. They also need to listen to the crowd on what didnt work and learn from it. They have everyones attention. Its time to try harder to keep that attention. What did you think of the post-Wrestlemania RAW? Love it? Hate it? Think the crowd needed to shut? Let me know in the comments!
