WWE Release Big Cass... Where Did It All Go Wrong?

One of the most high-profile outta-nowhere departures in a long time. WWE don’t just randomly release people anymore, such is their desire to hold onto talent. Only really Emma and, I guess, Jim Johnson have been spontaneously let go.

TLDR: a huge arrival from NXT who was booked in a way that exposed him both in the ring and on the mic, laid up by an unfortunate injury while someone else made his character redundant, and then eventually just not important enough to get away with his alleged conduct and attitude. A sad tale.

Plus, and I don’t want to turn this into a sob story, in the last few months his long term friendship with Enzo and his relationship with Carmella has disintegrated. That takes a toll - I hope whatever he does next is good for him.
