WWE have released a company statement addressing Chairman Vince McMahon's decision to pull the plug on talents using third party platforms, such as Twitch and Cameo.

The statement reads as follows:

'Much like Disney and Warner Bros., WWE creates, promotes and invests in its intellectual property, i.e. the stage names of performers like The Fiend Bray Wyatt, Roman Reigns, Big E and Braun Strowman. It is the control and exploitation of these characters that allows WWE to drive revenue, which in turn enables the company to compensate performers at the highest levels in the sports entertainment industry. Notwithstanding the contractual language, it is imperative for the success of our company to protect our greatest assets and establish partnerships with third parties on a companywide basis, rather than at the individual level, which as a result will provide more value for all involved.'

Various former talents and currently under contract performers have commented on the controversial decision over the last day or so, with former World Heavyweight Champion Dave Bautista recently retweeting former Democratic Presidential candidate Andrew Yang's negative response to the decision.

AEW also took a shot at WWE's divisive new policy during their All Out PPV last night, with Kip Sabian openly plugging his Twitch account during a segment which was underlined with the statement, 'THIS MESSAGE HAS BEEN APPROVED BY ALL ELITE WRESTLING'.

Many current WWE stars, such as the likes of Lana, Paige and Xavier Woods to name but a few, use various streaming platforms to earn money away from Vince McMahon's company. According to McMahon, though, these stars will have 30 days to cease activity on these platforms or risk fines, suspension or even termination of contract.
