WWE Releases 2020-2021: Where Are They Now?

58. Lio Rush

Lio Rush
AEW

Released: 15 April 2020

Now: Controversy and confrontation seems to follow lil' Lio wherever he goes. He was hardly the most popular figure backstage during his WWE run, and then clashed with AEW boss Tony Khan before departing the promotion in early-2022.

Rush has been making music and making cameos for the likes of New Japan lately.

57. Curt Hawkins

Brian Myers
IMPACT Wrestling

Released: 15 April 2020

Now: Credit where's it due: Curt Hawkins turned back into Brian Myers and has done some excellent work for IMPACT post-WWE. It would've been easy for the veteran to lean on his prior status as a "WWE Superstar" on the indy circuit, but he's worked hard to do something worthwhile in a home promotion.

Good for him.

56. Eric Young

Eric Young
IMPACT Wrestling

Released: 15 April 2020

Now: Ex-TNA stalwart Eric Young has been fairly outspoken about his desire to have another crack at WWE life. The jury is out on whether or not he'll get the chance, but he's another who has had a fun return to form in IMPACT.

Longstanding fans of the group still recall his glory days, and that makes EY a neat fit for the place.

55. Heath Slater

Heath Slater
IMPACT Wrestling

Released: 15 April 2020

Now: Most were slightly stunned to see Heath make a one-off comeback in June 2020 mere months after being released. That, at time of writing, is the last time he's wrestled for WWE. Ever since being scrapped, Slater has worked extensively for IMPACT and on the independents.

Oh, and he's ditched the Slater surname.

54. Sarah Logan

Sarah Logan WWE Royal Rumble 2022
WWE

Released: 15 April 2020

Now: It's only a matter of time before Sarah Logan shows back up on WWE TV. In fact, that might've happened by the time some read this - Logan has been providing voiceovers for Viking Raiders vignettes on SmackDown over the past month or so.

She also enjoyed a short cameo in the 2022 Royal Rumble.
