The October 28th edition of NXT has been announced as a 'Halloween Havoc' special and will be hosted by current women's division breakout star Shotzi Blackheart.

The news broke during last night's TakeOver: 31 show - the first to emanate from the new Capitol Wrestling Center at WWE's Performance Center. A trailer with all the typical spooky trimmings concluded with Blackheart staring up at a moon adorning the iconic WCW logo.

The Atlanta outfit used the branding between 1989 and 2000, with Eric Bischoff latterly inferring on his 83 Weeks podcast that he considered the show a bigger event than pay-per-view originator StarrCade. The events almost always leaned in on the festive fun of the holiday, with pumpkins, gravestones and all things All Hallows Eve decorating sets and stages.

WWE filed for the Havoc trademark back in 2018, with the event joining the likes of WarGames, The Great American Bash and StarrCade itself as WCW classics reimagined with the WWE sheen. AEW got in on the act earlier this year too - their Bash At The Beach Dynamite special was an aesthetic and creative triumph.

There have been no matches announced yet, but here's hoping they go beyond comedic street fights and costume contests that force your favourite wrestlers to dress like DX.
