World Heavyweight Championship: Alberto del Rio (c) vs Jack Swagger
With Raw coming from the US Capital this week, we were bound to see Swagger and Coulter out around Washington DC spouting their 'We The People' ideals. In a short promo, Swagger spoke of winning the World Heavyweight Championship, and welcomed everyone to his America. Del Rio responded in a backstage interview, and somehow this set up a match between Del Rio and Zeb Coulter. Despite Del Rio telling him not to, Ricardo Rodriguez was at ringside, which soon brought out Swagger too. He attacked Ricardo, Del Rio came to his aid, giving Coulter the chance to attack Del Rio with one of Ricardo's crutches. After the bell though, Del Rio turned things around, threatening Zeb until Swagger made the save and the two men attacked the World Heavyweight Champ with the crutches, leaving some legitimately painful looking welts on his back. On Smackdown Swagger defeated Kofi Kingston, leaving the challenger very much on top going into the title match at Wrestlemania. This feud is starting to look a little tired now and they seem to have run out of ideas, but I am still confident the two can put on a decent match given the time at Wrestlemania. Expect it to potentially open the show, as the WHC seems to do these days, and hopefully display all of the in-ring craft these two undoubtedly have.
Prediction: Swagger very much on top going into Wrestlemania, but I still expect Del Rio to come out victorious at Wrestlemania, and retain his championship. At least until a certain somebody potentially cashes something in...
