WWE Road To Wrestlemania 29: The Rock Takes Out John Cena

World Heavyweight Championship: Alberto del Rio (c) vs Jack Swagger

For another week running Creative seem to have spent more time on the World Heavyweight Championship feud than any other. Each week they take the time to significantly progress this feud, and however you feel about the two men, the match is being built up perfectly. After Swagger took the upper hand last week, breaking Ricardo Rodriguez's ankle, this week it was time for Del Rio to get himself some payback. On Raw, Del Rio was set to face Antonio Cesaro. Mid-match however, Zeb Coulter came out to the stage, distracting Del Rio long enough for Cesaro to attack and then for Swagger to appear at ringside and go after Ricardo's ankle again. Del Rio fought Swagger off, chasing him into the crowd, but was counted out as a result. Upon seeing Cesaro celebrating, Del Rio attacked the US Champ, locking on the cross-armbreaker. Another face doing heelish things anyone? On Smackdown, Swagger took on The Great Khali. I will tell you now, there is no need to rush out and watch this one. Eventually both men got counted out, leading Swagger to put the ankle lock on Hornswoggle. Ricardo came out and told Swagger to come and get him, which gave Del Rio the chance to get in the ring and lock the arm breaker on Zeb Coulter, and Ricardo to hit him with the crutch. Eventually Swagger returned, only for Del Rio to lay him out too. Another steady week of build for the World Heavyweight Championship match. Neither man is exactly overflowing with charisma, and both rely heavily on their managers for a little depth, but both are great in-ring technicians, and this story tells itself. Their match in New Jersey could be a surprise show-stealer. Prediction: Del Rio to retain.
