It finally happened, The New Day's record-breaking reign as Raw Tag-Team Champions came to an end at Roadblock. In the most literal sense possible, this was the 'End Of The Line' for the trio in terms of making history. They have been supplanted by a team nobody would have suspected several months ago.

In many respects, WWE likely wanted to take the belts from Big E, Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston a while back. Realising how close they were to beating Demolition's long-standing record though, management probably decided to let things play out a little longer. Having topped the achievement, there was no need for New Day to continue as champs.

Cesaro and Sheamus have potential as a full-time unit themselves. Shunted together by Mick Foley following that 'Best Of 7 Series', they have started to show some chemistry. Now, the bond has been strengthened by gold.

There was a stunned response when Sheamus rolled up Kingston for the pinfall win, almost like nobody expected it. Surprises like that are always awesome.
