WWE Royal Rumble 1999: Where Are They Now?

6. Gillberg

Royal Rumble 1999: Yeah, in 1999 the Gillberg joke was apparently still funny to Vince. A mere 3 weeks removed from WCW's Fingerpoke of Doom and 6 days after Goldberg defeated Scott Hall in a Stun Gun Ladder Match (Vince Russo, lol) Gillberg entered the record books for what was, at the time, the 5th shortest ever Rumble innings. A whopping 7 seconds.

Where Are They Now: After a short return to WWE to almost literally be buried by Goldberg, Dwayne Gill now runs his own training school in Maryland, as well as occasionally teaming with James Ellsworth on the indies. That last bit is true.

5. Edge

Royal Rumble 1999: Another one of those early Edge solo performances that showed precisely how hot WWE were on him being a future star. Edge was one of only a handful of guys allotted over 10 minutes in the match, and was even gifted the Banter Spot of tipping Gillberg out of the ring. Sadly his only elimination, although it's one more than 21 others managed.

Where Are They Now: Edge currently does his best work on the WWE Network, with The Edge and Christian's Show That Totally Reeks of Awesomeness having been a regular fixture on there since 2016. Sadly forced to retire the night after WrestleMania XXVII, aged just 37, after aggravating an existing injury in his neck.
