In 2011, McGillicutty was part of the New Nexus. Later, WWE would try to shunt him up the card by giving him none other than Paul Heyman as manager. It didn't work out, and he retreated to the lower-card pack until leaving last year.

Now: The real-life Joe Hennig hasn't returned to pro wrestling since leaving the promotion in April 2020. He's hard to keep tabs on too, because the artist formerly known as McGillicutty doesn't exactly post too frequently on social media either.

He seems happy enough, and that's the main thing.
