CM Punk's reign of 434 days came to end at the Royal Rumble. However, his performance in the match was as Michael Cole would say "vintage" Punk. It seems that CM Punk is incapable of having a bad match in recent times, as every time he steps through that curtain, not only does he get a reaction, but he delivers in the ring. At the Royal Rumble, CM Punk showed that he can tell a story in the ring like few others, and helped Rock to a 5-star match. It wasn't a wrestling clinic like he had with Daniel Bryan, but it had people on the edge of their seats. The addition of the Shield when the lights were off was a clever way to use them without actually seeing them. However, it was all for nothing, as The Rock walked out of Phoneix as the new WWE Champion. CM Punk won't be far from the title scene, and he deserves to be there after 434 days at the top. If his rumoured match with the Undertaker is true, then I truly cannot wait.
