WWE Royal Rumble 2014: 10 Questions & Answers

6. Who Will Have A Breakthrough Performance In The Rumble Match?

Roman Reigns. That's the first name that comes to mind. Every year there's always a guy that emerges as a midcard talent that is elevated by his performance in the Rumble match. If you saw Survivor Series, Reigns was pushed as a major star on that show as well. I expect Reigns to enter the Rumble match very early, last near the very end and fall short of winning. He'll probably be the guy that eliminates the most people, though. The other name that I would target as a possible breakthrough performer is Sheamus, who could be making his return from shoulder surgery at the Rumble. It would likely be a surprise return, but I can see it happening because he's such a hard worker that I expect him to be back at this show. Another guy who will likely do very well in the Rumble? Bray Wyatt, assuming he's in the match. Management seems to be high on Wyatt as a performer and I think a strong showing in the Rumble will go a long way in making him look like a bigger star in the weeks and months to come. It also works because Wyatt could basically hide behind his buddies Luke Harper & Erick Rowan while they do all the work. Perfect heel behavior. Even though Reigns is the member of The Shield that's expected to the biggest star once the group breaks up, guys like Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins could have very strong showings as well. If the Shield works together in the Rumble match before something happens to cause tension it would be one of the best stories they could tell in the match.
