WWE Royal Rumble 2014: 10 Reasons The Undertaker Might Return

8. Signifying The End

Undertaker will be 49 at Wrestlemania 30, just a year shy of 50. He can't go on forever. His eventual retirement is surely on the horizon, accelerated by chronic injuries and a growing family life. Could Wrestlemania 30 be his last match? There is a chance. He will have thought about it and discussed it with his family, but right now he is probably leaning towards a continuation. Then again, he barely made it last year, WWE having to make a very late call to give the Undertaker vs Punk match a green light. This guy is just at an age where his beat up body is giving in on him. If Wrestlemania 30 is to be Undertaker's last match then it is appropriate he returns at Royal Rumble. A proper send off will need to be given to Undertaker, and he should be featured prominently in the run up to the big retirement night. A returning Undertaker at the Rumble could be the moment WWE uses to tell us he is here for one last run. It would be similar to what WWE did with Ric Flair in 2008, who in the run up to his retirement match with Shawn Michaels went on a streak of farewell performances. One last Undertaker Royal Rumble appearance is an absolute must for his loyal fans.
