WWE Royal Rumble 2014: 10 Reasons The Undertaker Might Return

9. The Insider Speculation

So what are the chances of this surprise taking place? Insider journalists have often found it hard to get any information on The Undertaker, but we do have this piece of insight from Bryan Alvarez of F4Wonline in October last year- "Undertaker may be back at Survivor Series or Royal Rumble depending on his health. He had agreed to do one non-WrestleMania PPV this year, which was supposed to be SummerSlam teaming with Kane vs. Shield, but he was injured when Shield put him through a table in the post-WrestleMania angle and hasn't been back since. "He met with HHH last week and they presented some ideas to him, but again, when he chooses to return will be dependent on how his body feels." From this statement we can conclude a few things. Alvarez reports that Taker was meant to work a big WWE PPV outside of Wrestlemania as long as he is fit. As best we know right now he is fit, and with Survivor Series gone, this leaves the Royal Rumble as the PPV Taker will work. So going off that reporting there is an excellent chance we will see The Deadman at the Rumble this weekend. The fact he has met with Triple H and discussed several ideas for the comeback is also encouraging. One of those ideas was surely a Rumble return in which he comes back to lay down his path to Wrestlemania. Watch this space. Alvarez has been right on these kind of things in the past, albeit wrong on other subjects of speculation. The lack of insider news from other sources could be seen as a lack of a story, or perhaps an industry protecting their most revered act in his comeback moment.
