WWE Royal Rumble 2015: 10 Potential Winners

9. Roman Reigns

Most have assumed that after Roman Reigns' record-breaking 12 eliminations at the 2014 Royal Rumble, he would go on to have a huge year with the breakup of The Shield being teased, and an eventual face turn. As it's transpired, all 3 hounds of justice have turned face, leaving us with a faction that are united and stronger than ever before, and best of all, more popular with the fans. But, like all good things, it must come to an end. While it's unsure what the catalyst for a breakup will be, it's inevitable that it'll happen, and inside gossip says that Reigns will be coming out of it as a top star for the company, with main event status almost certified. What better way to cement such a push than with a Royal Rumble win? The simple fact is that his achievements at this year's event, including eliminating fellow Shield members Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins, speak volumes about the value that he has to the WWE. By the final moments of the match, as Reigns passed the half-hour mark, the then-heel was actually cheered by the fans when facing up against a retuning Batista, and we all know how that ended up. Reigns' standing in next year's Rumble match really depends on when, why, and how The Shield breakup. If it's soon, then they'll all be well established as solo competitors by the time 2015 rolls around. If it's not until much later in the year, it may be a bigger money spinner to revolve a breakup around the Rumble, as was teased last time. Reigns, Rollins, and Ambrose could well end up facing off in a triple threat match at Wrestlemania 31, as many expected they would this year, depending on how long The Shield's face run lasts.
