What's the latest? Try not to get too excited, but AJ Styles will be backstage at the Rumble on Sunday. That doesn't mean he'll be in the match itself, but there has to be more than a glimmer of hope unless WWE are bringing him in for a meet and greet with the rest of the locker room before he gets going. Styles is also reportedly booked to be at Mondays Raw in Miami and Tuesdays SmackDown tapings in Tampa. AJ is making an advertised appearance at a ROH show in Georgia on Saturday evening (where he isn't scheduled to wrestle). If WWE decide they do indeed want him to wrestle in the Rumble, he's free to do so as long as he passes any relevant tests - if he hasn't passed them already, that is. Potential Balor Club member Styles would be debuting alone, though. As things stand, Karl Anderson is still under contract to NJPW so if WWE were planning on introducing any sort of New Japan-based faction on Sunday they would have to introduce Anderson at a later date. That, quite frankly, shouldn't and surely won't happen.
