WWE Royal Rumble 2016: 10 Reasons The Undertaker Will Return
2. Set Up For Retirement Announcement
WWE's creative team have an out if they don't book The Undertaker to win the Royal Rumble. As mentioned previously, the man is coming to end of his career in the company as far as actual in-ring wrestling goes. If he failed to win the 30-man match, and thus the WWE Title, the character himself could cut an impassioned promo the following Monday night on Raw. Wondering aloud whether or not he has what it takes anymore, Undertaker could reveal that he plans to retire following WrestleMania 32. From there, the announcement could be made that he's being inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame and will wrestle for the final time at 'Mania. There's also a workaround for WWE, should they not wish to definitively say that 'Mania will be 'Taker's last showing. The match could carry a retirement stipulation, making it seem more much more high-stakes. Emotions would be running high heading into the event, because fans would struggle with the concept of seeing The Undertaker perform for the last time ever. If Undertaker won the match, it would enable him to occasionally wrestle on big events such as WrestleMania without tarnishing his legacy.
