WWE Royal Rumble 2016: 5 Reasons To Be Fearful

2. Roman Reigns Might Overcome The Odds

The entire purpose of putting the WWE World Heavyweight Title on the line in the Royal Rumble match is to reignite interest in the event overall. Unfortunately, the writing team may have booked themselves into a corner by virtue of the two most plausible outcomes. The first is that Roman Reigns somehow manages to overcome all the adversity in his way and leave with the title still around his waist. Depending on how WWE booked this to happen, it could get a positive response from the audience. That said, it's unlikely people would enjoy an all-conquering, 'Superman' like babyface victory in the match unless it is masterfully worked. If Reigns smashes the League Of Nations and Triple H, it won't give much purpose to a WWE Title match between 'The Big Dog' and 'The Game' at WrestleMania. It may be challenging for WWE management to resist the temptation of making Roman Reigns look as strong as possible. The McMahon family appear truly desperate to get him over as the next big babyface sensation, and thus patience may be thrown promptly out of the nearest window come Royal Rumble time. Reigns winning is possible, but it would need to be extremely well orchestrated for people to go home happy. The negative reception to his 2015 Rumble win should not be forgotten when considering this issue.
