WWE Royal Rumble 2016: Early Betting Predictions

5. Dean Ambrose

Given his comparatively low odds of 7/1 to win the 2016 Royal Rumble, bookmakers obviously think that Dean Ambrose might at last get his big break that many fans would argue should have come a lot sooner than now. Reasons he should win €“ Before The Shield split up in June 2014 many fans had tipped Ambrose to emerge as the biggest individual star from the faction. Despite this he has found himself suffering through a number of mid-card feuds whilst watching his former Shield partners Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns win the WWE Championship and the 2015 Royal Rumble match respectively. That being said, Ambrose has still performed well despite being stuck in these mid-card feuds and given his popularity among the fans he would be a very welcome winner of the Royal Rumble match in 2016. Reasons he shouldn€™t win €“ A win for Ambrose would perhaps come a bit out of nowhere at this stage unless WWE spend the next couple of months building him up. As I€™ve said, it€™s not that he€™s performing poorly or anything, but given the way he has been booked since The Shield split up it would be hard to see how Ambrose winning the Rumble match would make sense from a storyline perspective.
