WWE Royal Rumble 2017: 10 Possible Surprise Entrants
6. Stone Cold Steve Austin
Arguably the most popular wrestler of all time, the sound of glass breaking would generate the mother of all crowd reactions in any arena in the world. Austin entering the Royal Rumble in his home state and dishing out Stunners to anybody in his path would be a legendary moment.
Austin has kept himself busy and maintained his relationship with WWE, hosting the Stone Cold Podcast on the WWE Network from time to time, as well as working on his own projects such as Steve Austin’s Broken Skull Challenge, but has often said that he feels he has one big match left in him.
Will it happen? The Rumble could be the start of that final showdown for the Bionic Redneck, culminating at WrestleMania 33. However, Austin’s schedule, while not at the level of The Rock’s, is still pretty full, meaning he may not be able to devote the time necessary to build to any potential match. That still leaves open the possibility of a one-night appearance, and the accompanying nostalgia pop.
