WWE Royal Rumble 2017: 10 Possible Surprise Entrants
7. Booker T
The Rumble this year takes place in Texas, a state several current and former stars hail from, so you can expect a healthy dose of representation for the Lone Star State. One such legend who is a proud Texan is Booker T, and as the five-time WCW Champion is a local boy, it isn’t too big of a stretch to include him in the festivities, especially as he will be present at the event as part of the pre-show panel.
Again, this wouldn’t need to be an extended stay in the match (although Booker is still in good enough shape to do this if necessary), but any Texan entering the contest will likely receive a favourable reaction.
Will it happen? Booker was always considered a good hand while part of the active roster, and continued to engage in action while semi-retired as part of the announce team, memorably feuding with Cody Rhodes over the Intercontinental Championship. Having recently announced his intention to run for Mayor of Houston in 2019, he may be looking to generate a little extra publicity by competing in the Rumble in his home state, although this could just as easily work against his involvement as he seeks to avoid any potential controversy.
