It should still be crystal clear to anyone whose been watching Raw these past few months that WWE still has major plans for Roman Reigns. Despite a failed WWE Championship run coming out of WrestleMania 32 that ended due to a Wellness Policy violation, Reigns is still considered to be WWE's future flagship performer. The company wisely moved him down the card after his 30-day suspension, but it wasn't long until he won the United States Championship.

Recently, WWE has slowly started to work Roman back into Raw's world title picture with a Universal Championship match against Kevin Owens just announced for December's Roadblock: End of the Line. Considering these two will meet in just a few weeks at the Raw-exclusive PPV, a title vs. title match would be an appropriate follow-up come Royal Rumble time.

Owens might drop the title to Reigns at Roadblock, but if WWE does want to crown Roman as the next Universal Champion, they'll probably hold off one more month and do it in front of a massive crowd at the Royal Rumble.

The last time Reigns was crowned world champion at the culmination of a major event inside of a Texas dome didn't work out so well. If at first you don't succeed, try, try, try again, right?
