WWE Royal Rumble 2017: 10 Potential Surprise Entrants

8. Kurt Angle (Probability 3/10)

Ever since Rusev debuted, won the United States Championship and began his anti-American persona, fans have been clamoring for the 1996 Olympic Gold medal winner to stand up for the good ol’ USA. However, Angle’s contract situations and nagging injuries have prevented this matchup from happening.

Now that Angle has left TNA and is currently working the independent circuit, now is as good a time as ever to bring back arguably the fastest rising wrestler in history. As ever, the issue with any potential Angle return is whether he would pass WWE's physical, and if they'd be willing to take the risk even if he did so.

Time is running out for any possible Angle return, and according to Angle himself, he has spoken to Triple H and there appears to be mutual interest in one final run.

There's a long way to go before such a deal is finalised (a Hall of Fame/WrestleMania appearance seem more likely), but a brief Royal Rumble jaunt is beyond comprehesion.
