WWE Royal Rumble 2017: 10 Things To Expect
2. Hunter Steps In The Ring
WWE thinks we’re endlessly fascinated in the power struggle between Stephanie McMahon and Mick Foley. While the ratings suggest otherwise, it is their belief that this is the biggest, best thing going in the company and we simply cannot wait to see what happens next.
I’m going to assume that by Royal Rumble, Hunter has explained why he did what he did to Seth Rollins and decided to join forces with Kevin Owens. It's best probably to not assume something logical like that with WWE, though.
But what that means is that the COO is going to have to get his a** in the ring and face either Rollins, or the other man he screwed over, in Roman Reigns. Since Rollins/Hunter is the bigger match, we’ll speculate that’s going to be saved for WrestleMania, and The Game comes out for his twice a year wrestling hibernation to battle Roman in a Mania rematch.
As history has shown, Hunter emerges for the biggest shows and the biggest opponents, and then goes away. The 2017 Rumble is going to be a huge event, so you better believe he’s going to want to be a part of it somehow. Don’t think that him getting his win back against Roman in front of 70,000 fans to set up a Mania match against Rollins hasn’t been playing in his mind not-stop lately.
