WWE Royal Rumble 2017: 10 Things To Expect
3. A Raw Vs. SmackDown Match
The first Raw vs. SmackDown match should be about two years away, so that it actually means something. But this is WWE we’re talking about here, the company that’s been hot-shotting angles and matches for the past 20 years. So you can imagine to add just a little extra intrigue to the Rumble, they’ll give us some sort of inter-promotional bout.
While the company likely (and hopefully) won’t give away something like A.J. Styles vs. Seth Rollins, seeing something like The Miz vs. Roman Reigns seems within the realm of possibility.
We’ve already witnessed a couple small cracks in the brand separation (Jack Swagger jumping sides, Daniel Bryan appearing on Raw), so in Vince’s mind, he probably wouldn’t see too much further damage in booking the first Raw vs. SmackDown showdown at the Rumble in the hope that it may help fill in a few of those seats.
