5. Samoa Joe Debuts
The Royal Rumble match is known for its debuts and last year featured one of the biggest ever as A.J. Styles made his first appearance in a WWE ring, kicking off an astonishing year for the former NJPW and TNA man.
This year's event should be the moment that A.J.'s friend and peer Samoa Joe makes his main roster debut. Having dropped the NXT championship back to Shinsuke Nakamura and failed to regain it in their subsequent rematch, Joe looks WWE bound and there would be no better place for him to make his first appearance than in the Royal Rumble match.
The crowd reaction would be huge and if Joe gets a decent run in the match - and a chance to square off against Brock Lesnar - fans would be delighted.
