WWE Royal Rumble 2017: Predicting 10 Biggest Spots

3. Goldberg And Lesnar Can't Be Contained

Goldberg might have squashed Brock Lesnar in less than two minutes at Survivor Series, but they remain on a collision course. Goldberg was the first man to announce his entry into this year’s Rumble, and Brock followed him one week later. The duo look set to face-off at WrestleMania, and while it remains to be seen whether they’ll headline the show or not, it’ll likely be one of the event’s most anticipated match-ups.

This year’s Rumble will be built around a potential Goldberg vs. Lesnar showdown, at least partially, and it’s all a question of what form their interactions will take. There’s a strong chance that one will eliminate the other, thus prompting their eventual WrestleMania rematch, but the best possible option might be to have Goldberg and Lesnar eliminate each other.

Goldberg and Lesnar should be so consumed by their hatred for one another that they can’t be contained by the ring. Winning the match should become a secondary priority from the minute they set eyes on each other, and the ensuing chaos would take them both out of the consideration without sacrificing their individual momentum. The tension has been simmering for months, and it’s about time it started boiling over.

It’s unlikely that WWE will want to give either man a significant advantage heading into their next match, and this spot would go over huge. Neither man loses, their issues remain unsolved, and they have a concrete reason to keep feuding until WrestleMania 33.
