WWE Royal Rumble 2018: 10 Things WWE Got Right
6. Giving Every Match Time To Shine
Ignoring the Kickoff show for a second, there wasn't a match on the main Royal Rumble card that went less than 10 minutes. On a show stacked with two Rumbles and multiple title matches, that was never a given beforehand.
Hands up who believed The Usos vs. Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin might be scrapped last minute?
This writer happened to be in that camp, so it was a pleasant surprise to see the SmackDown lot handed almost 14 minutes to work with on the main card. No, that's not an extraordinary length for a '2 Out Of 3 Falls' encounter, but it's at least 5-6 more minutes than expected.
WWE gave every single match time to shine at this year's Royal Rumble. Somehow, despite the fact both Rumbles took up a full two hours plus of TV time, the other matches didn't suffer. Well played, WWE.
