WWE Royal Rumble 2018: 10 Worst Possible Outcomes
3. The 30th Spot Is Another Popcorn Fart
Search something like 'Roman Reigns Royal Rumble 2017 reaction' on YouTube and you're likely to see countless videos showing fans losing it over Roman coming out last. Televisions were smashed, neighbours woken up and remote controls hurled across the room when it was revealed that the 'Big Dog' was last year's #30.
The previous year, Triple H's entrance as #30 made sense in storyline, so that gets a pass. Dolph Ziggler in 2015, Rey Mysterio in 2014, Ryback in 2013, Big Show in 2012, Kane in 2011 (as #40), Batista in 2010 and Big Show again in 2009 were all poorly received however. It hasn't been since John Cena's shock return in 2008 that fans responded positively to a final entrant.
Please, WWE, change that. The final slot is there to be exploited and made into something special, rather than a proverbial popcorn fart of a moment that either angers fans or disinterests them completely. It's high time that #30 spot meant something again.
