WWE Royal Rumble 2018: 11 Things That Must Happen

3. Get Braun In The Rumble

Big Show Braun Strowman

With that in mind, Braun Strowman should enter the Royal Rumble later in the night. I’m not a fan of those in championship matches getting a second chance in the main event (see Reigns, Roman), but Strowman is a different story. Stephanie McMahon’s mysterious re-hiring of The Monster Among Men shows that he has powerful supporters after all.

Braun Strowman has been a revelation over the last 12 months, but he is in for an extremely challenging year. The Abominable Strowman has been a major player on the flagship show for a year. The time has come for him to start working longer matches and showing different sides of his character. He is rumoured to be facing Triple H at WrestleMania, and a dominant Rumble showing could do him the world of good.

Before he starts showcasing more character, he needs to get out there and wreck shop. If WWE wants to move his story with Hunter one step forward, it could even have Braun invade the match and decimate one or two folk before Kurt Angle’s fabled SWAT team arrives.

Strowman is in his element when he gets to hurl people around, and a violent two or three minutes in the Rumble is the best place for that. Get the big man in there.

Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
