WWE Royal Rumble 2018: 11 Things That Must Happen

8. Give The SmackDown Tag Team Title Match Plenty Of Time

The best 2-out-of-3-falls stipulation doesn’t seem to fit the SmackDown Tag Team Championship match. The bout is happening because of controversy surrounding the legal man in previous clashes between The Usos and the team of Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin. Surely a Tornado Tag would have made more sense? Remove all questions of legality and create a chaotic situation.

Best 2-out-of-3 it is, and the general consensus that this will go the way of most WWE matches with this stipulation. The two teams will share the first two falls within a few minutes, individuals getting pinned after being hit with transitional moves. The bout will then settle down into a traditional tag match, with one team prevailing.

How nice would it be if WWE bucked this trend? These are two fantastic teams, and, if given time, they could undoubtedly produce something special. Chad Gable is a genuine superstar waiting to happen, and his stock could take a huge jolt in the right direction if he’s given 20 minutes to show his skills on a big stage.

This could be a special match - if given the time.
