WWE Royal Rumble 2018: 7 Reasons To Be Fearful

3. Braun Strowman Isn't Brock Lesnar's Chief Threat

Braun Strowman was Raw's biggest surprise package of 2017. After building himself as a domineering heel in 2016, Strowman forged an organic connection with WWE fans and his work on Raw paved the way for one of the most natural babyface turns in years. That's apparently not enough to be the brand's only monster as we start a new year.

Kane's part in the Royal Rumble could have been a nice surprise had it been limited to shock value and nostalgia. Instead, the 'Big Red Machine' challenges for the Universal Title against Brock Lesnar and Braun in a Triple Threat. Worse, a man fans were chanting "Please Retire" at during the 2015 Rumble looks like a bigger threat than Strowman.

It was Kane who humbled the champion on Raw this past Monday, and it is he who is being painted as Brock's main nemesis. Maybe this is because Kane is the only true heel in the match, but surely Strowman is the one who needs that spotlight in 2018? (Or perhaps it's a bluff to disguise an eventual Strowman success?)
