WWE Royal Rumble 2019 - 10 Most Likely Winners
1. Shawn Michaels
On a surface level, with how WWE has over-promoted part-timers and legends over current full-time talent over the years, the idea of Shawn Michaels, who at the time of this article's writing isn't even out of retirement, is insulting and disgusting.
But on an emotional level... c'mon. You've read this list. You've seen the options that might be if WWE really go with a repeat winner. Most of them are painfully predictable. Meanwhile, Shawn Michaels, who last won a Royal Rumble match in 1996, would be a completely out-of-nowhere winner (unless he announces his participation ahead of time, in which case, forget I said that).
But just to squeeze into the comfy cushion of smarky armchair booking, think about who HBK could reasonably face in his second comeback. What's the one match you would want to see at WrestleMania 35? If your answer was anything other than Shawn vs. AJ for the WWE Championship, unless it's a match with Daniel Bryan, I don't know what to tell you.
Obviously, HBK is a long-shot, especially at the time of writing this article, but if we're going on the premise that a repeat-winner will happen this year, HBK offers the most opportunity for excitement.
