WWE Royal Rumble 2019: 10 Surprise Entrants We Could See

3. Stephanie McMahon

Stephanie McMahon entering the second women’s Royal Rumble would be unspeakably awful. It’d unleash a hurricane of piss all over the fanbase, but before you hit the comments section in complete disgust, let’s unpack why it might actually happen.

Stephanie positioned herself on commentary for the first women’s Rumble. She made sure that even though she wasn’t competing, she still had her name attached to it. It was Stephanie’s little way of snatching just a little bit of that spotlight for herself.

This, along with her other well-worn habits, means that nobody can credibly rule her out of a Royal Rumble appearance. A lot of people would hate that, of course, but it’s the McMahons’ company, and they can essentially do what they want.

Now an optimist might say "hey, maybe Stephanie will use her undeniable heel heat to put someone over a la Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania 34." That's fanciful. She's far likelier to be made to look strong at another performer's expense. Watch her eliminate Bayley.

Stephanie is currently the only McMahon to never compete in a Royal Rumble match, so there’s another reason for Vince to throw her in. Hooray for nepotism!
