WWE Royal Rumble 2019: Every Match Ranked From Worst To Best

1. WWE Smackdown Women's Title: Asuka (C) Vs. Becky Lynch

Result: Becky taps to the Asuka Lock, allowing Asuka to retain (17:10).

Rating: This was a cracker of a way to kick off the main show, and though some may take umbrage with Becky's loss - especially as it was clean - it was a fully earned result and, of course, set up Becky's subsequent Rumble win.

At once epic and scrappy, this hit all the right beats while confirming just how great these two are together.

The storytelling and psychology were note-perfect, especially in terms of selling Asuka's effectiveness in grounding Becky and finally preventing her escape.

Asuka may have been the winner, but nobody really lost here. The decisive Match of the Night. 8/10
