WWE Royal Rumble 2020: 10 Former Stars Who Should Return Tonight!
5. Carilto
A majority of the fan base was aware in the mid-2000s that not everyone was going to be a world champion, and Carlito was one of those guys who was perfectly positioned as a midcarder for the better of his career.
Despite never coming close to clinching the WWE Championship, Carlito did find success in the singles and tag team ranks as a former Intercontinental, United States, World Tag Team, and WWE Tag Team champion over the span of six years.
Carlito's WWE tenure came to an abrupt end in May 2010 when he refused to go to a rehabilitation facility upon failing the WWE Wellness Policy and was subsequently released, meaning it's been nearly a decade since he last competed for the company. His one-off appearance at the 2014 Hall of Fame (where he inducted his dad into the hallowed hall alongside Primo and Epico) was well-received and left fans wanting more of Carlito Caribbean Cool.
Even though Primo and Epico haven't been regulars on WWE TV in some time, talk of a potential return to the company for Carlito has been brought up on multiple occasions since 2016. It's hard to imagine he'd be utilized any better than Shelton Benjamin has been in recent years, but a one-off return in the Royal Rumble would be cool, if nothing else.
