WWE Royal Rumble 2021: What's Next For The Night’s Losers?

6. Charlotte Flair

Charlotte and Asuka are a perfectly entertaining team, but it is overwhelmingly obvious that they are an ad hoc alliance between two of the roster’s best singles competitors. Their championship loss, though disappointing, kept Charlotte looking strong, Asuka looking like a warrior, and garnered heat for the new champions. Charlotte mounted a comeback with a decent final three showing during the Women’s Rumble.

As much as we may not want it, Charlotte has a post-Rumble direction - a feud with her Dad and Lacey Evans. So far, the only person to benefit from this feud is Jerry Lawler, who used Charlotte and Lacey’s time in the Rumble to vicariously defend his own dirty old man persona. Hopefully, the feud is over by WrestleMania. If not, the only way this rivalry could have ‘Mania star power is if it cumulated in a mixed tag, with Charlotte recruiting a legend of her own.

It is notable that ‘The Queen’ has chosen to continue her union with ‘The Empress of Tomorrow’. By keeping herself close to Asuka in the coming months she is likely to find herself challenging for the Raw Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 37, whether one-on-one or in a multi-woman stipulation.
