Shotzi Blackheart certainly made the best entrance in the 2021 Women’s Rumble, invading the main roster in her miniature tank, and showcasing her impressive aim, hitting Billie Kay’s résumé with her tank’s projectile. Shotzi had the indignity of being the match’s first elimination. She took a rough spill over the top rope courtesy of Shayna Baszler. To further add to the indignity, she was upstaged by the unlistenable warblings of Jillian Hall.

For Shotzi, it was a disappointing showing not befitting the success she has recently enjoyed on NXT. She went from ending December winning the 2020 NXT Year-End Award for Breakout Star of the Year, beating the likes of Damian Priest and Raquel Gonzalez, to ending January as a Rumble bust.

One of the standouts in the most stacked women’s division in Western professional wrestling, Blackheart has an electric charisma, big chaotic energy, and a unique look. Going forward, she has plenty to prove in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic with her partner Ember Moon. Beyond this, Blackheart has everything the business and its fans prize in a Women’s Champion. She is primed to make 2021 her year.
