WWE Royal Rumble 2021: What's Next For The Night’s Losers?
4. Carmella
Carmella and Sasha Banks had a serviceable match, with some standout moments, particularly ‘Mella’s suicide dive to the outside. Their talents are undeniable, but their match felt drowned in the star-studded Royal Rumble card. The conclusion felt like a suitable end to the rivalry.
Carmella then entered the Women’s Rumble at #24. She only eliminated one person, Nikki Cross, however, half of the match’s competitors didn’t score a single elimination. ‘Mella lasted 00:47 - a fun and memorable cameo.
Carmella’s niche is comedy. This is a compliment: her work alongside R-Truth and James Ellsworth was sports entertainment gold. She has always had the personality and comedic timing, now her in-ring work is just as impressive.
‘Mella has this mid-2000s Simple Life Paris Hilton vibe, which along with her partnership with Reginald, should be further exaggerated for comedy, and channelled into a chickens**t heel gimmick comparable to The Miz. She could also get a boost as a heel teaming with her friend Bayley to add some much-needed variety to the Women’s Tag Team Championship race.
