WWE Royal Rumble 2023: 10 Things That Must Happen

4. Sami Zayn Protects Kevin Owens

Sami Zayn wore the facial expression of a man who thought he was about to eat a beating on Raw Is XXX. Instead, The Usos defended Sami when Paul Heyman had torn him down. That's a stay of execution for the 'Honorary Uce', and the plot continues to thicken heading into the most exciting time of WWE's year.

This stunning story can take another turn at the Rumble following Roman's win over Owens. The sharks will circle, Reigns will call for his troops to charge, and then...Zayn will fall on top of his old friend and beg The Bloodline to reconsider. "Haven't we done enough?!", he'd reason.

Jimmy and Jey, who spoke up for Sami on Monday, should be confused by this. Stepping in, Reigns should demand that Zayn get out of the way, and the sympathetic babyface-in waiting can look on helplessly as his stablemates brutally beat the ever-living sh*t out of KO. That'll act as foreshadowing/a preview of what's in Sami's own future.

Storytelling - this feud has it down to a fine art.
