3. Cody Rhodes “Finishes The (Wrong) Story”
Last year, Cody Rhodes came up short against Roman Reigns at 'Mania and people were p*ssed. Folks weren't mad enough to riot, but there was a lot of tut-tutting about Triple H electing not to "finish the story". Remarkably, partly owing to Cody's popularity, there's still time to put things right in 2024.
Yeah, about that.
Rhodes has to be considered one of the frontrunners to win this year's Rumble, but if it's for the vacant World Title then...wouldn't be he finishing the wrong story by winning it? After all, it's the WWE Championship that Cody craves, not this new-fangled World Title created exclusively for Raw.
WWE could pretend all they wanted, but fans wouldn't be buying this as closure for Cody's tear-jerking tale about Dusty. If anything, it'd be just another gut punch during back-to-back WrestleMania seasons, which may well be too much for some to take.
Please don't do anything like this, guys.
