Gran Metalik, a 27-year-old Luchador, had a great run in CMLL in Mexico, capturing their Trios Championship on two occassions and well as holding the World Super Lightweight Championship. Despite his young age, much like T.J. Perkins, he’s a longtime veteran in the business as he debuted as a professional wrestler when he was only 16.

In the Cruiserweight Classic, he’s delivered some great matches, and was the one responsible for knocking Alejandro Saez, Tajiri and Akira Tozawa out of the tournament.

Metalik is an fun high-flyer to watch, and can hopefully give WWE the Mexican star that they've been searching for since Rey Mysterio left the company. With Sin Cara being a huge flop and Kalisto not connecting with the audience in any meaningful way, a lot of eyes will be on Metalik. If he delivers the same level of excitement we've seen from him in the CWC, he'll be just fine.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
