"The" Brian Kendrick is returning to WWE, and it's long overdue.

In one of the most confusing releases of the past decade, Kendrick was let go from the company, despite developing into a really entertaining character He later showed up in TNA for a pretty lousy run (babyface philosophers don't get a lot of cheers), and he's now going to get another chance to redeem himself on a big stage.

Unlike a few of the competitors we've seen on the CWC, Kendrick really knows his character, and has done a fantastic job in the sit-down interviews that have aired during the show. He comes across as incredibly sincere in his desire to win the tournament, perhaps more so than anyone else we've heard from.

At age 37, Kendrick may only have a couple more high-flying years left in him, but if given the opportunity, he could prove to be one of the most entertaining and important members of the Cruiserweight Division for some time to come.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
