WWE’s Vince McMahon Movie Script Review - 10 Things You Need To Know About Pandemonium
4. Vince's Distorted Rise To Power
The second act covers Vince and the WWF's rise to industry dominance. In the script, Vince Jr. approaches his father with a proposal to buy the company for $1 million, with Linda forming a masterplan. She convinced Vince that because Hogan, Andre, and co. were signed to his Titan Sports brand, not WWWF, that he could back his father into a corner and coerce him into selling the company. While Vince obviously bought the promotion in real life, Linda had little to do with it, and the script greatly exaggerates her role.
A series of 1980s-style montages highlighting the company's rapid ascent follow. There's steroid abuse, Randy Savage and Roddy Piper brawling on a plane, and more, and Vince is portrayed as the ultimate millionaire playboy throughout. He's shown sleeping around, doing drugs, and living the fast life as WWE's success goes through the roof, and his bank account swells.
It's not all celebratory, however, and the act closes with a taste of what's the come. The FBI accost Vince while he's on the red carpet for the premiere of Hulk Hogan's No Holds Barred crossover film in 1989, and it's here where he first meets government prosecutor Sean O'Shea, who'd head-up the trial that dominates the final act.
