WWE’s Vince McMahon Movie Script Review - 10 Things You Need To Know About Pandemonium
3. Vince Senior's Passing
One of the biggest ways in which Pandemonium complete flips the script on reality comes through Vince McMahon Sr.'s passing. In the real world, Vince Sr. didn't live to see WrestleMania's genesis in 1985, having passed away the previous year. He wasn't around to witness the birth of Hulkamania and wrestling's incredible boom in the 1980s, and therefore completely missed his son's domination of the sport throughout the decade.
The script changes this completely, however, and has Senior passing away during the steroid trial, which didn't kick-off until 1993. Thus, it adds almost a decade onto his life for no apparent reason, but does play to the idea that had he lived for longer, Vince Sr. would have despised his son's cold, ruthless means of expansion.
As was the case in reality, the script has father and son making amends before Senior's death, which eventually spurs-on an overly-dramatised courtroom speech featuring Vince Jr. deriding the government for sticking its nose in the business of him and his fellow blue collar people. This rousing diatribe, which is almost completely fictitious, turns the jury onto Vince's side and convinces them to clear him, because Mr. McMahon has to look like the hero in his own biopic, right?
