5. Scott Hall vs. Steve Austin (Wrestlemania X8)

Vince McMahon himself promised to destroy his own company by injecting it with a "lethal dose of poison". Their return to the company that first made them stars opened up a litany of possibilities for dream matches. What should have been one of the biggest Mania matches of all-time was...a match. It's not that it's a terrible match. In fact, had it been a Raw main event or even a Mania match between anyone else it would more than likely be remembered much more fondly. But the hype behind this matchup was incredible. Fans were clamoring to see these two gigantic superstars face off. At the time Austin was making no attempt to hide his frustration with this match and his place in the company, and it definitely contributed to the letdown. Regardless of the quality of their matches, few men could sell the Stone Cold Stunner as well as The Bad Guy.
