WWE SmackDown Live!: 10 Things You Might Have Missed (3 Oct)

In Breezango, WWE may have played just a little too fast and loose with what recently was their hottest property.

Tyler Breeze and Fandango had made the best of their carefully-cultivated Fashion Police unit. Earning one scripted vignette after months of dishing out 'tickets' to the stars of SmackDown Live!, the pair brilliantly turned an exercise in minute maximisation into a self-contained story arc.

Though kept around almost exclusively as comedic diversion, the 'Fashion Files' skits became a weekly Tuesday night highlight, and even earned the pair a pay-per-view title shot against The Usos. Overmatched on the night, the duo lost no momentum in the aftermath, taking the weekly episodes to new heights with a celebrated trio of Twin Peaks parodies that dragged out a 'whodunnit' storyline that saw the feckless fashion-plates searching for assailants that gave Fandango a kicking and even worse, trashed their in-joke laden office.

A payoff was promised, but it was a frustrating bait and switch. The segments then inexplicably vanished, only to be teased for the go-home edition of the broadcast. The company fell short yet again, only noting that they'd actually be back at the pay-per-view. For WWE's sake, hopefully the third time will actually be the charm, rather than playing out to an audience unwilling to be fooled again.
